Day 1 of your 5 days kahuzi Biega lowland gorilla trekking safari and Nyungwe canopy walk

After meeting and greeting with your professional guide in Kigali you will be driven to Bukavu in Congo. Driving through the beautiful Rwandan side landscape offers great views as you go to Bukavu in Congo where you will have dinner and an overnight stay.

Your driver guide will ensure you are at the park headquarters by 8:00am to start your gorilla trekking tour in Congo experience. Briefing starts at 8:00am by the park rangers before you get into the jungle for the trek that will last about 2-5 hours and only 1 hour in the presence of the largest giants on planet earth. After a relaxed breakfast, you will drive through the beautiful landscapes and cross back to Rwanda where you will have an overnight in your preferred lodging facility close to Nyungwe forest national park.

After breakfast, you will go to Nyungwe forest national park for morning chimpanzee trekking. During this chimp trek, you will have a chance to enjoy a great nature walk, sight several bird species, and come across several primate species. Chimpanzee trekking will last about 2-4 hours where after you return to your lodging facility for refreshment and lunch. In the evening, you will do an evening canopy walk starting from the Uwinka tourist reception center at the park headquarters. After about 2 hours of touring the forest canopy, you will return to your accommodation for an overnight.
