The Kahuzi-Biega National Park is a famous home to the lowland gorillas in Democratic Republic of Congo. Kahuzi Beiga National Park is situated near the western bank of Lake Kivu and the boarder of Rwanda. Day 1: Arrival in Kigali Rwanda and transfer by boat on Lake Kivu to Gisenyi Congo

Arrive in Kigali at the airport in Rwanda where our safari guide will be waiting for you. He will welcome you and give you a short safari briefing about your 2 days gorilla tour in Kahuzi Biega National Park Congo and after transfer you to Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu for about 3-4 hours. You will drive through the best scenic view of the hills of Rwanda which earned it a name of “the land of a thousand hills”. Upon arrival in Gisenyi, you will transfer by boat along Lake Kivu to Bukavu in Congo enjoying the views of the big lake as well as its islands. From there you will connect to your hotel for check in and spend the remaining hours of the day at leisure as you prepare for the next day.

Day 2: Transfer from your hotel to Kahuzi Biega National Park for your Congo lowland gorilla tour

Because the gorilla trekking activity starts at 8am, wake up early in the morning and takes breakfast at your hotel and get ready for the journey. Our driver guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to Kahuzi Biega National Park for your Congo gorilla trekking safari. When you get to the park, you will get a briefing about from the ranger guides about the do’s and don’ts of the gorilla trekking activity and after proceed to the volcanoes to encounter with the lowland gorillas.  After seeing the gorillas, you will be restricted to just an hour with them so every minute with them is precious. It is the only chance you got to share with the lowland gorillas in their natural habitat. The whole Kahuzi Biega National Park gorilla tour will take about 4 hours. After the trek, return to the car and transfer back to the Lake and then cross back to Kigali for your flight or your night.
